A business opportunity is something that miraculously land on your lap at a time when you have all the resources to get on with it. But this is a rare occurrence. In most cases, you have to work hard to find that business opportunity.

Some people take on eight to five daily jobs hoping that the work would be stable enough to help them save enough for that time when they have grey hairs and would probably be too tired to wake up at six everyday, commute and go to an office.

But there are people who prepare for retirement in an entirely different way.

These people look for a business opportunity when they are still young and build their own businesses. While some look towards a comfortable retirement by the age of 65 most of them look forward to make the business more successful as they grow older.

Here are five tips that will help you find one that will change your life forever.

1. Throw away your security blanket! Let's face it. You can spend your whole life in the employ of another person and look forward to staying in that office for years until you have earned your keep and get your retirement kitty. Yes that would indeed be a comfort zone and a security blanket but that is all you will ever have.

2. Stop relying on that monthly paycheck for dear life! No one got truly rich in the employ of another person unless of course he has engaged in under the table transactions and made money at the expense of his employer.

Being employed means wallowing in the knowledge that you will have a monthly pay check, some kind of health insurance and if you are lucky a retirement package that can be availed of when you are already too weak to even enjoy your package.

3. Learn how to recognise a business opportunity and grab it! If you want to earn unlimited income and get rich then take the best business opportunity that comes your way and work your way to a more comfortable life. A good one is one that has a market demand and which can be set up with resources that you already have or which you can have access to.

4. Look for trends! Most entrepreneurs became rich because they were the first to recognise a growing market demand. It is better if you can be a step ahead of your market and predict their needs. However, knowing how to spot trends in market demand will also be a good tool in discovering an excellent business opportunity.

5. Always take advantage of leverage. The law on leverage means you earn something for yourself but you also earn from what others are making. Do not be so selfish as to take in all business opportunities that come your way. Share a viable business opportunity with other people but make sure you also get an income from what they will earn.

6. Always capitalise on those businesses related to the basic necessities of man. Man needs shelter, food and clothing. If you can find a business opportunity in these areas then you may have already found your goldmine.
